Journal Submissions

January Issue: October 1st – November 30th 

April Issue: January 1st – February 28th 

July Issue: April 1st – May 31st 

October Issue: July 1st – August 31st 


Book Review Submissions

All year round.

Payment

We pay $5.00 USD per acceptance into the journal (not reviews). This means if we accept 1 poem, you'll get $5. If we accept three pieces of prose, you'll get $5. If we accept two poems and three prose and one photo, you'll get $5. At the moment we can only issue payment via PayPal.

The rights of any work published in this journal (and the print anthology) remain with the author.

ALL ACCEPTED SUBMISSIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE ANNUAL ANTHOLOGY.

Issues go live on the third Friday of every publishing month.  

PROSE & SCRIPT

Please do not submit more than 800 words in total per submission period. This means you can send one piece worth 800 words, or 8 pieces worth 100 words each, and/or anything in between.

POETRY

Please do not send more than three poems per submission period. Try to keep the length of poems under 40 lines. We will not turn down longer pieces, but shorter pieces will be considered first.

REVIEWS OF SHORT FICTION &/OR POETRY

If you have a review of short fiction and/or poetry, self-published or published by a small press, that you would like posted on our blog, please submit your full review and book details, including purchase links. Please make sure the books you are reviewing are less than one year old.

ARTWORK & PHOTOGRAPHY ...

Artwork and photography will be considered for the cover and/or interior of each issue. Send us a piece of work you believe represents a slice of life. Please do not send more than ten pieces per submission period.

Attach your artwork as high resolution files (at least 2400 pixels wide) so we don't have to chase them up if they're accepted.

Biographies will be alphabetically archived on our Contributors tab. So please make sure it is something worth reading. Feel free to add links to your website and/or blog so our readers know where else to find you. 

Simultaneous submissions are totally fine. We wouldn't expect anything different. But please do us the courtesy of letting us know immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

Previously published works are also fine. But please make sure you let us know where it was previously published in your submission, so that if it's accepted, we can include it in the credits. Also make sure all the rights to the work has reverted back to you. That said, unpublished work will take precedence over published work.

By sending us your work, you are stating that the work is your own and does not infringe on any copyright. The rights of any work published in this journal (and the print anthology) remain with the author. 

We reserve the right to copyedit your work, (this includes tweaking any clumsy phrasing) before publishing it. Any significant creative changes to content will be approved by the author prior to publication. We also reserve the right to use your work in all promotional material for the journal.
